The representation of the family in “Sapato de salto”, by Lygia Bojunga

Abstract

The literary production of Lygia Bojunga, who is from Rio Grande do Sul, aimed at children and young people, is not only attractive to the eyes of those who read it, but also reveals the ills that afflict society, transforming what we used to think of as a simple narrative. That said, we find in “Sapato de salto” (2011), especially in the characters Sabrina, Andrea Doria and Paloma, samples of a social representation of the family with regard to conflicting experiences lived in this subjective social space, such as: rape, physical and psychological violence, abandonment, prostitution, homophobia, among others. That said, we propose to analyze the representational character of the struggle for family space in the main characters of the novel “Sapato de salto”, using Zilberman (2003), Colomer (2017), Moscovici (1978), among others, as theoretical support.
