The objective of this paper is to analyze how multimodality occurs in a web class based on two models: one from the perspective of Social Semiotics, GeM (BATEMAN, 2013) and the other from the field of Educational Psychology (MÜLLER et al., 2013) about the classification of multimodality degrees in learning objects. The object of analysis was a web class produced for Teachers Education Graduation course in the Spanish Language in online modality. The descriptive and qualitative analysis reveals that there is the predominance of the verbal mode over the other semiotic modes, even with the affordances of the media in which it is available, not integrating the potential of semiotic resources into the material that can promote a more meaningful learning in a distance education situation or even in person.
